Michael A. Baratta is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, majoring in Finance and Accounting. Michael began his first company in 1980 growing the manufacturing and distribution business into a $160 million sales enterprise. The manufacturing and distribution company was sold in 2000.
Michael began Bloomfield Capital Management in 2000 catering to the retail investment and executive benefit market. Acquiring all Life, Health, and variable insurance licenses, series 6,63,65, 7, and a ChFC designation from the American College, the company grew acquiring outstanding production awards from many Life and investment companies repeatedly with typical production in excess of 1 million in each calendar year. This practice was sold in 2005 at which point the firm reached over 32 million in assets under management.
Moving to Atlanta Georgia in 2005, Michael took a position with Bisys Insurance Services as the Senior Sales Manager for the southeast.
After 18 months, during which he acquired a CLU from the American College, developing a 1250% increase in application count, and exceeding all sales goals, he had resigned to start his own firm.
In 2007 Michael started Fortress Brokerage Solutions providing Life, Long Term Care, Disability Income, Annuity, and Life Settlement solutions for insurance licensed agents and agencies. In addition Fortress Brokerage acquired one of the few Minnesota Life Master Distribution contracts awarded in the country. Fortress Brokerage provides Individual as well as voluntary and group benefit products to contracted agents. Fortress has developed many Direct BGA contracts along with Top IMO contracts with carriers generating in excess of $80 million in target premium thus far.
Ashleigh Baratta is a graduate of Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA, where she obtained two Bachelor degrees; one in Journalism and the other in Political Science. She is a resident insurance agent in Georgia for life and accident & sickness. Ashleigh is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success where she was awarded the National Engaged Leader award. She enjoys cooking Italian food and playing cribbage.
Lindsay McCain grew up in Marietta, GA. She graduated from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. She started working for White Horse Advisors, a parent company of Fortress in 2006, and once she graduated from KSU, she became an employee of Fortress Brokerage Solutions. Married since 2009, Lindsay and her husband share two children Riley and Cole. Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys tennis, softball, walking at the river, and spending time with her family.
Kimberly has been with the Fortress team as the New Business Associate since October 2011. Prior to working at Fortress, Kimberly spent 10 years in the restaurant business where she had the pleasure of meeting new people constantly. When she’s not at work, she enjoys reading mystery/suspense novels and spending time with her son and her loyal but goofy Chocolate Lab, Marley. Kimberly is a native of Atlanta, Georgia but hopes to retire to Hawaii someday.
Cathy has extensive life and annuity experience on both the Carrier and Brokerage sides. Married since 1980, Cathy and her husband have 2 children and 4 grandchildren. Formally from Atlanta, she now resides in Royal Palm Beach, Florida. She has a Florida Life, Health and Annuity license. Outside of work Cathy enjoys growing orchids, knitting and reading.
Robert has 23 years of experience in providing protection products, advanced case design as well as advanced business and product development in the insurance industry. He has worked with Mass Mutual as Sales Vice President, MetLife as Regional Sales Vice President, and The Money Group as Managing Director. He and his wife Melissa currently reside in New York with their son and daughter, Logan and Grayson. Robert enjoys family activities, specifically hockey, lacrosse, hunting, fishing, camping, and vacationing with his loved ones. He is a volunteer at Best Buddies, The Boys & Girls Club, Childfund, and Habitat for Humanity. Rob works with Fortress Brokerage Solutions as the Business Development Associate specializing in advanced case design and producing insurance sales.
As a financial professional with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Keith assists independent advisors to protect, grow and transfer wealth during their lifetime with objective, unbiased, customized and efficient insurance strategies on behalf of their clients. He also assists independent advisors as well as independent broker-dealers to grow their business by providing client acquisition strategies. Keith graduated Allegheny College in 1998 with a B.A. in History.
Lenore Guarino is from Berley, Michigan and has spent 18 years in the insurance industry. She has three daughters and two grandchildren. She enjoys dancing, craft making, and volunteering for charity in her time off.
